Background Story of “Someone Like Me像我这样的人”
This song was wrote, composed and sung all by Mao Buyi himself.
When Mao Buyi was young, he thought he should be an extraordinary person, but as he got older, he found himself not that special, that kind of feeling of being buried in crowds very quite difficult, he felt unsatisfied, yet he couldn’t do anything about it. When Mao Buyi was about to graduate from college, he tried to escape from reality, but didn’t know where to go. In 2016 when Mao Buyi had internship at a local hospital in Hangzhou, he began to write songs, and then he wrote this song “Someone Like Me”.
This song won the “Top Ten Songs of The Year Award” in the 2018 NetEase Cloud Music Original Ceremony.
This song was one of the most popular songs of Mao Buyi毛不易, since release, it has been covered by many other artists and very popular on Tik Tok and other social media.
